Dare to share

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, writing something.
In our life race, trying to achieve our goals at work, the knowledge and experience we have acquired just seem obvious. Sometimes it looks like we don’t have something real to share with others.

However, lately, I’ve realized this is not the case. When talking with people globally and in different companies about work-related matters, I’ve come to the realization that there's actually a lot to share.

And you know that saying, “sharing is caring”. This is actually true, but it gets even bigger than this. When you share, you benefit as a professional and as a person—from the questions people will ask, from the comments, or even from the need to articulate your thoughts.

I meet people on a weekly basis who admit they are afraid to share professional content on the networks, because who are they to advise others?

Basically, what’s stopping them is the fear of criticism and, mostly, the fear of daring and being vulnerable.

Remember this:

So, dare! Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable. Don’t be afraid of being criticized.

How to start?
Like everything in life, start small and grow with time.

  1. Share someone else's posts on LinkedIn.
  2. Repost someone else's post and add your thoughts on it.
  3. Write a free text post on LinkedIn based on your recent experience or a discussion you recently had with your colleagues. This can be only a few sentences, with maybe a question to the readers' audience at the end, or maybe a vote.
  4. Write an article. You can use platforms such as Medium or scoop.it (you can find more options here). If it feels less comfortable to share on LinkedIn, don’t.
    The next step will be to share on Linkedin.
